This is the second Victory I’ve owned in which the clutch cable snapped right at the clutch perch. From my previous Victory I’d already done a fair amount of research on replacement cost and found that the factory repair option was pricier than I cared pay. The factory replacement entails replacing the whole assembly of the cable and cable housing together. Prices are usually over $100 and are not that easy to find for the correct year and model. I really only needed a new cable anyway so why pay for a housing I don’t need?
How to Proceed?
When my previous Victory clutch cable snapped I had found an aftermarket replacement that worked really well, it’s called Sav-Ur-Ride. The replacement cable is $42 and you don’t have to replace the entire housing, just the cable. The cable comes complete with lube and simple instructions to guide you through the replacement process.
The Repair
The following video shows the complete process of installing the Sav-Ur-Ride clutch cable. It’s honestly quite painless and simple.
