2006 Mazda Miata MX-5 Grand Touring

I found this Miata on the local Craigslist in need of some good ‘ol TLC.  While the car still had a clean title, it had been hit in the left rear quarter panel and would need some body work and a little bit of mechanical repair as well.  I used a local shop to repair the body and saved myself a lot of time and hassle. One of the sway bar end links was busted so I swapped that out.  As I drove the car I could feel vibration at different speeds.  Turned out that two of the wheels were bent from when it had been hit.  I went on Tirerack and ordered up a couple of rims. Problem solved.

The car turned out great and was a blast to drive.  This was a 6-speed manual transmission with a nice set of sticky Continental (xtreme contact DW’s I think) and it would hold the corners great.  It was simply a pleasure to travel places in this car.

A young guy who was graduating from college was apparently on the receiving end of a very nice graduation present from his folks.  When they came to look at it the young guy was hesitant to drive it.  He was inexperienced with a manual transmission and was respectful in his desire to not burn up my clutch, so I offered to take him out for a drive.  I took him on the curviest roads near my house and he was grinning ear to ear.  The car was sold right then.  The car was low miles (about 48k) and in great shape so I stuck to my price.  I was able to sell it right near the KBB retail value.

Deal done, onto the next one.
