2016 Cannondale

Jekyll Carbon 1

I picked up this bike a few weeks before going up to Marquette, MI to get together with an old buddy of mine. Pretty much perfect timing and a perfect bike to ride up in Marquette.

Once again I found this deal on Craigslist in the Chicagoland area.  The guy I bought it from had bought it at a closeout deal from a local Cannondale dealer and then literally never rode it.  It was brand new.  I got it for the killer deal of $1,800 and he even gave me the original purchase receipt for any potential future warranty claim.

The bike performed awesome up on the Marquette trails but back in Chicagoland the bike was overkill.  Its a 6″ travel enduro style bike so while it is a blast to ride on technical descents it is too sluggish for me to ride 5-7 miles down (and back) the paved path to get tot he mountain bike trails.  I prefer using my old hardtail for that as its much faster on the pavement and still decent on the dirt trails.

I posted the bike back up on Craigslist and found an interesting character of a guy from Brazil.  We struck a deal on the bike at $2,700.  I was happy and so was he.  What I was surprised to learn though is that the bike, in Brazil, was worth far more that $2,700.  No complaints from me though.  I got to ride a killer bike and got paid to do it.

Deal done, onto the next one.
