2007 Mazda Miata MX-5 Grand Touring

What a beauty!

The combination of green paint, tan leather and satin silver wheels make for a wimpy clean looking car.  This Miata also came with the power retractable hardtop which is much quieter when cruising down the road on the colder days with he top up.

I found this Miata on Craigslist up in northern Wisconsin.  A dealer up there had purchased the car at an auction the year earlier and fixed it up with his son and then simply enjoyed it for a year.

We agreed on a price for the car and during the negotiation he had volunteered to meet me half way, which I graciously accepted as it turned my 12 hour day of driving into only 6 hours.  We defined a date and time and I met him up in Mosinee, WI.  I took it for a quick test drive to verify that everything was as he had stated and invariably I found a couple items that weren’t quite as advertised but all-in-all it would be another fun little project.

He and his son had fixed most of the major items needing repair on the car but they had glossed over a few small things like a door handle that didn’t work, cracked tail light, a couple plastic body caps were missing and the roof paint needed to be buffed out.  There were of course other little items but this gives a decent idea.

With time I worked through each of the issues/repairs and simultaneously drove it to work on a daily basis and also took it out on business trips.  With all of the issues corrected I posted the car up for sale and eventually sold it.

Deal done, onto the next one.
